Briana Fiore

Briana Fiore is a journalist at The West Australian and The Sunday Times.

Based in Perth, she covers State politics, social affairs, health and general news.

After just 12 months as a reporter in the South West, she carried out a Walkley Award winning investigation which exposed how Bunbury Hospital’s toxic culture was impacting on patient care and the welfare of staff. The series sparked an official probe by a State Government regulatory body.

Briana was named the 2021 Young Australian Journalist of the Year for coverage of community and regional affairs followed by Western Australia’s best new journalist. She also had the best coverage of regional WA in 2021.
